Mango Chutney
Mango chutney can be used very flexible. Use it as a dip, spread, marinade, or just eat it by the spoon :D Below recipe will be enough to fill a medium sized pot.
Ingredients
- Three (3) ripe mangoes
- Two (2) lemons (juice)
- One (1) Habanero chili
- Three (3) to four (4) large onions
- 100g grown sugar
- Plenty of garlic
- Ginger
- Pepper
- Salt
- Peanut oil
Tools
- Medium sized pot
- Cutting board
- Sharp knife
Time Requirements
Most of the time goes into preparations. Once everything is in the pot you can let it cook at low temperature for a while, checking in every couple of minutes.
Preparation
- Cut onion, habanero, garlic, ginger into small pieces
- Cut mango into small chunks
- Heat the pot and add peanut oil
- Add habanero, garlic, ginger and stir
- Add onions and cook till they just about start turning translucent
- Add sugar
- Add a little salt and some pepper
- Add mangoes
- Keep cooking at low temperature until you like the consistency
