Whole Rainbow Trout
When served with a side of veggies, rice, or potatoes, one 1/2kg trout is good for one to two persons.
Ingredients
- Four (4) fresh rainbow trouts
- One (1) large onion
- Two (2) lemons
- Fresh sage
- Fresh marjoram
- Fresh dill
- Garlic
- Salt
Tools
- Oven
- Baking tray
- Aluminum foil
- Sharp small knife
- Cutting board
Time Requirements
- Preparation: ?
- Trout: 15 to 20min at 170C (pre-heated oven)
Preparation
- Slice garlic (4 to 5 1mm slices required per fish)
- Cut onion into half-rings
- Clean the fish from inside and outside under running water
- Seasoning (applied to inside)
- Salt
- Juice of 1/4 to 1/2 of a lemon
- 4 to 5 slices of garlic
- Add some sage leaves as well as dill and marjoram
- Add onion
- Wrap fish in aluminum foil and place on baking tray
- Put into pre-heated oven at 170C for 15min (check after 10min)
- Fish is done when the eyes turn opaque white
